JWForland D310 (Alpha 3) Dumper Truck IN Pakistan, FOR Pakistan: Strong & Efficient

JWForland D310 Left Corner Dumper Truck at https://jwforland.com/forland-d310/
Having a rising economic background and news about upcoming oil fields being discovered in the shores of Karachi Seas, Pakistan’s automobile sector holds excellent potential! JW Forland has introduced many different vehicles in the dump and cargo category. For the former, they have added the D310 (Alpha 3) dump truck. Big, reliable and efficient, it is precisely what a dump truck should be in Pakistan. Let us look at some of the highlights of this marvel of Pakistani and Chinese truck engineers.

Interior:

First, the engine. The D310 is a rough and tough commercial truck loaded with a turbocharged, water-cooled 4-stroke 2771 cc diesel engine. The D310 is fuel-efficient and gives you more miles with smiles. With 102 horses working in tandem, power will never be an issue with an D310. The truck also features 5-speed manual transmission. For a truck as massive as the D310, brakes play a vital part in its success. We have fitted front and rear hydraulic drum brakes which offer increased safety while driving. The suspensions (front and rear) are a rigid axle, and with a Diaphragm Spring Clutch, so you can take on those rough roads with ease. Not only this, the suspensions add to the durability of the vehicle.

Exterior:

Forland D310 Dumper Truck with easy unloading feature!
In terms of size, the D310 is 4820 mm long, 2010 mm wide and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. Remember the article initially mentioned D310 is big? That can sometimes hamper the driving experience as it takes a lot of effort just to turn the truck. But in the D310, they have installed a recirculating ball-type, hydraulic power steering so that the vehicle turns smoothly and efficiently. For the truck of its size, that’s pretty impressive. Another feature of the D310 is the hydraulic jack installed to let users unload easily.

Looks, Drive & Performance:

Like the vehicles in the cargo truck category, the D310 has big, crystal lights installed at the front. Front indicators are fitted in the headlights, while additional indicators are mounted on the doors of the truck to let oncoming traffic know about turns. The grill between the headlights features the Forland emblem, and crystal rear lights add a clean look to the vehicle. The D310 is naturally complete with an easy drive, as it comes with a recirculating ball-type, hydraulic power steering like mentioned earlier. The steering allows the vehicle to achieve a turning radius of 6m. The engine operates smoothly and does not compromise on power with a torque of 225 NM/rpm. The D310 is Euro II compliant and has a reduced carbon footprint, which helps preserve the environment. All of the company’s vehicles are Euro compliant which is in line with their objective stated online on their website as well; of keeping the environment clean and green.

Price, Availability & Parts:

The D310 5TS32 is priced at Rs. 2,374,000 (March 2019) which makes it an affordable value for money in its class. The vehicle is available for purchase as they continue to change the game in Pakistan’s automobile industry. Getting spare parts and maintenance is easy as they are setting up an extensive network of dealerships throughout Pakistan to make sure their valued customers experience hassle-free service.

They aim to revolutionise Pakistan’s automotive industry & the D310 is just the first step in that direction.

                   Truck Craziness in Pakistan

Take a look at the crazy truck art that we have here. We were fortunate enough to find this channel which promotes trucks and their drivers and shows them in the light that they deserve.

Crazy Truck Skills in Pakistan

The above video shows a truck that has almost half of it's huge body suspended in the air. But the Pakistani driver had the talent to bring his truck on the road and clear the way.

Note: This video doesn't belong to us either. It belongs to the Youtube channel Pak Talent 24. The link for the video above is this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F6sU0opomU

It is without a doubt that Pakistani truck drivers are one of the best in the entire world. Our roads are so extremely dangerous, take the Karakoram highway for an example that's built on the Himalayan mountain tops and has constant landslides. Only the true truck experts can drive here.

Truck-man terms

Know what tread means?
Or what payload means? Or what grade ability means?
Or what the difference is between a drum brake and a disc brake? No.

Personally, I didn't really know what they meant either, so I went off, researched and made some short explanatory lines that'll help you through. Whether you're planning to buy a truck or not, you SHOULD be literate enough to know what a word means when you're reading the brochure. So, here goes.

Tread: The tread is the section of the wheel that actually contacts the surface as a truck is rolling. The entire tire isn't skimming over the road. It's a small and usually has grooves. The amount of tread determines how long a tire will actually last, since it's the only part of the tire that is being eaten by friction.

Payload: The payload of a truck is the amount of weight that it can carry in it's cargo section. A one-tonne truck is NOT a truck that weighs a tonne, it's a truck that can carry a tonne. The same for two tonne trucks and three and so on.

Grade ability: The amount of steepness that a vehicle is capable of climbing.

The difference between a drum brake and a disc brake

drum brake is simply a round drum that has a set of shoes inside of it, when the brake is applied, the shoes are forced against the sides of the drum and the wheel is slowed.

disc brake is a disc shaped metal rotor that spins within a wheel. Disc brakes are usually more expensive than drum brakes and they're safer too. For economic purposes car manufactures put disc brakes in the vehicles front and drum brakes at the rear.

That's it for today. We hope you learnt something. If not, well, another time then.

The vehicle manufacturing king comes to Pakistan?
                      How will the market react?

You guys probably heard the uproar about KIA coming into the country. But what's coming next is something that the older generation of Pakistanis may have never even dreamed of.

Ladies and gentlemen, here comes the King - Volkswagen

The only Volkswagen vehicle that we're used to seeing

The sort of Volkswagen vehicles that we might be seeing in the future
And my my, isn't it a coincidence that the KIA came just a few months earlier.

Pakistani manufacturers will have to seriously "up" their game if they wan't to compete with beasts like this

It's as if the blanket of ignorance has been lifted from the eyes of the Pakistani people. The Suzuki Mehran had been running the same old design since the 1980s! (It's been withdrawn now, phew)

And since we had next to no international manufacturers making cars at prices affordable rates (according to local standards). We literally had no choice but to buy the products that local manufacturers offered us.

Scroll up, look at the new Volkswagen, then scroll down to this miserable piece of shit

We're happy that the Pakistani market has been put on it's toes. Really happy. We're sure that prices will plummet and the competition for quality at low rates is about to start.

What do you think?

Why most trucks in Pakistan are old as hell

When out on the road of Pakistan, most trucks you'll see will probably be at least twenty years old or more. But with so many new trucks in the market... why?

One of the most popular trucks in Pakistan

These trucks are made by Bedford. The production of the model above which is either the J5 or the J6 (We can't tell because of the excessive art) started from the late 1960s and now in as we're about to enter 2019, it still remains as one of the most valued trucks out there.

BUT WHY?  We went to an intimidating Truck expert to find out ....

The King of Trucks (Haseeb Kamal)

Bedford Trucks are

  • Good Matches for Pakistani roads

They’re able to rough it out on the half built roads of Pakistan. And they’re high, compact and durable.

  • Big payload capacity

These trucks can take on 9 tonnes easy. And for Pakistanis that means they can take much much more… I think it is agreeable to say that we’re way past the rules of the universe at this point.

  • During their assembly, restrictions were placed on other trucks

It’s true. For some time while Bedford trucks were being assembled in Pakistan. The entry of external trucks was restricted. And in a growing country that bordered china and had the Karakoram highway being built, the truck business was lucrative.

  • Pakistani mentality

But now that new, more fuel efficient trucks have arrived why do most people still have Bedford trucks?
We believe that the Pakistani mentality of trusting the old plays a large role here. Notice that even AFTER the discontinuation of the Toyota SE Saloon (2005) people still buy it now. At one point, it made its name for being durable. And once we think that one thing works, we stick to it. We’re scared of exploring the new and unknown. Maybe rightly so because of the country’s unreliable conditions…

Anyhow, that’s the Bedford. A great truck. But do know, that there are much better new options that are out there and that the times are changing.....

Till next time :)
